1959 GMC Panel Truck Restoration

This 1959 GMC 100 Series panel truck has undergone a restoration here in our Rutland, Massachusetts shop. At the owners request, the frame and body were not totally separated, however the entire body and frame were soda blasted before body and paint work. You can see a slide show of the project here.

Like many original cars and trucks of this era, the rear quarters and rocker panels suffered from extensive rust, which needed to be cut out and replaced with fabricated metal.

The truck is powered by a rebuilt 145hp, 270 ci, 6-cylinder engine. GMC produced these overhead valve, pushrod engines from 1941 through 1962, coupled to a 3-speed on the column they were the work horse of GMCs line of light trucks and popular with early hotrodders and drag racers.
